Smith Pivlock V2 Max Review

As someone who wears contacts, I am highly critical about eyewear and how it will work in terms of vision but also blocking wind. I use these glasses for road and mountain bike riding and can honestly say that they are the best pair of glasses in terms of optics and blocking wind that I have found to date. In the past I have used many different styles from "house" budget brands (which pale in comparison to the optic quality of the Smith's) to other high quality brands from Specialized, Oakley and Smith. These are by far my favorite and for probably one important reason - I normally buy the "standard sized" frame because I have a small face and look like a goon in bigger glasses (I figure, why LOOK like a goon when I already RIDE like one...). BUT, I am forever goon dressed from hear on out. The "Max" Pivlock V2 cover my eyes and provide wind protection better than anything short of wearing a full blown goggle (which is sometimes acceptable on the mountain bike). If you we ar contacts and have eye trouble, these are slam dunk, no brainer.

If you are interested in the other special features - the adjustable nose piece and insanely simple lens attachement system, well then I can say they are fantastic as well. The nose piece adjusts to fit a wide variety of facial features. The way the frame hinges and the lens pops off is so simple that I'm surprised no one thought of it before. Maybe someone did, but this is my first pair and as someone that constantly changes between clear and tinted lens, this feature makes that chore a mindless snap! Yes! You will not regret this purchase!
