The shell is formed with Icon's unique dry molding technology which allows for exact placement of carbon material. This controlled placement provides reinforced structure without adding weight. Indeed, weighing in at a mere 1450 grams, the Carbon lifeform is a prime example of the most modern of helmet manufacturing technologies. Of course the weight savings benefit is matched by the vastly superior venting system used in the Airframe. Where the other manufacturers imply venting the Airframe truly delivers. This is one of the best helmets that I would vouch for

The Icon carbon fiber airframe helmet is just dandy. Its really light compared to my other Icon Alliance SS Battle Cry silver/black & gold helmet. I was debating between this helmet or the Shoei RF-1100. The price between the two are pretty close. I tried on both helmets and decided to go with the Icon Airframe. I ordered a small, which fits comfortably without any complications. The helmets airflow is beyond satisfactory keeping it cool inside. The glossy shine coating and color of the helmet is outstanding. I replaced my clear visor screen with a smoked/tinted one. Removing & replacing the screen is very simple.

I would recommend this helmet regardless of riding experience. If your budget permits and you are interested in the carbon fiber appearance/look, I do suggest purchasing this helmet. I have tried searching around and tried on other carbon fiber helmets and nothing compares to this Icon.
