More affordable option with all the bells and whistles still! Not SNELL approved though.

I'm not writing this as a helmet expert. I recommend you do a thorough search and research the helmet you're going to buy before you buy it. Decide how much you want to spend and what you are looking for. I see helmets that range from $50 all the way up. Scorpion helmets seem to be in the upper price range. I own this helmet as well as a Shoei goddess, which is in the $400 price range. My Shoei has a clear shield, the Scorpion has a silver mirror shield, so I use one for day and one for night rides.

Anyway, I honestly don't notice much of a difference between these two helmets. They both have great ventilation, comfortable padding, and fit great. This Shoei is SNELL and DOT approved, whereas the Scorpion is only DOT. The Scorpion has a little rubber flap that is closer to the chin, decreasing wind coming up from the bottom. If the vents are open there's still plenty of airflow to prevent fogging while riding and stuff. I think my helmet looks amazing with the mirrored shield. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a more affordable helmet. I noticed that many other Scorpion helmets are SNELL approved, but this one isn't. I'm not sure why that is, but that's the only drawback I can find with this helmet!
